craft fair

13 Dec

I drew this at the beginning of the Crafternoon. But guess what! After chatting with some rad folks, including my distro neighbor Dwayne B, and drinking some spiked coffee (delivered by Rachael, since I was stuck behind the table), it was actually pretty fun.

In other news, there is an interview with Bastian Fox Phelan on Zine Weekly which reminds me that I am still taking submissions for Femme a Barbe 3! Until March!

And, if you happen to live or be traveling in the UK, you can now get my zines from the lovely Tukru at Vampire Sushi Distro.

I have to admit that I’m dismayed to see zinesters continuing to participate in Zine Weekly without a mention of Teal Triggs’ awful shenanigans. That blog exists to promote her book after all.

I don’t know…I feel like the site does way more to promote zinesters voices than it does to promote Fanzines (besides the ad on the sidebar). I’m not sure it’s productive to completely give her the cold shoulder.

I think it’s all I can do at this point, since it’s all she’s done to me. Besides that, I’m finding it difficult to believe that she cares much about zinesters’ voices, considering her book barely mentions the content of any of the zines featured, aside from their Cool Punk Rock Graphics. I dunno. I don’t personally want to support any of her projects until she at least makes an apology, which doesn’t seem to be happening. (Don’t take this as an argument from me or anything, I just don’t particularly like seeing her name without a mention of, btw this is the woman who is profiting off our work…)
